About Davis Sign Company
Davis Sign Company is a family-owned sign manufacturer serving the Bay Area and beyond for over 45 years. We specialize in custom signs, architectural signage, dimensional letters, vehicle graphics, large-format printing, wayfinding systems, illuminated signs, and specialty fabrication projects.
Today, our production facility combines experienced craftsmanship with advanced technology, including large-format digital printing, CNC routing, laser cutting, vinyl plotters, laminating systems, and custom fabrication equipment. This allows us to handle projects ranging from a single storefront sign to large multi-location branding programs.
What sets us apart is our ability to combine design, fabrication, printing, installation, and project management under one roof. Our team enjoys solving unique challenges and creating custom solutions that help businesses stand out and grow.

Long before digital printers and CNC machines existed, sign making was a hands-on trade built on skill, patience, and attention to detail. Those values remain at the core of everything we do.
Our company was founded by Milton Davis Sr. and Mi-Sun Davis, whose commitment to quality workmanship established the foundation that continues to guide our business today. Every project, large or small, is approached with the same dedication to craftsmanship, customer service, and long-term relationships.
Our Legacy
The story of Davis Sign Company began in 1980 when Milton Davis Sr., after serving in the United States Army at Fort Ord, joined Marin Sign in San Rafael as an apprentice under owner Rad Ingram.
Originally established in 1922, Marin Sign was one of Marin County's oldest sign companies. There, Milton learned traditional hand lettering, sign painting, fabrication, and installation techniques long before computers transformed the industry.
After several years, Milton took over the business and established Davis Sign Company with his wife, Mi-Sun. Together they built the company while raising their two sons, Milton Jr. and Sam, who spent their childhood helping around the shop, learning the trade, and assisting with installations.
Milton Sr. was always looking ahead. As technology evolved, he invested in some of the first computer systems and vinyl cutting equipment available to the sign industry. Davis Sign Company became one of the first shops in Marin County to adopt computerized vinyl cutting technology, setting a precedent that continues today.
As Milton Jr. and Sam assumed leadership roles, they continued investing in new technologies including screen printing, digital printing, vehicle wrap production, CNC machining, and modern fabrication equipment.
Today, more than four decades later, Milton Jr. and Sam proudly carry forward the values and work ethic established by their parents while continuing to grow and innovate for the next generation of sign making.
